According to Vishnugarh SDPO Vaijyanath Prasad, the stabbing took place at Daru Chowk on March 27. A formal case was registered at Daru police station on April 1. The victim, identified as Gulab Kumar Saw, was initially rushed to a private hospital before being referred to Rims in Ranchi for advanced care. Tragically, he passed away on Sunday, as confirmed by the police.
The main accused, Akash Kumar, aged 21, was apprehended on Saturday and subsequently sent to judicial custody. Following further investigation, authorities arrested another individual and detained a 17-year-old juvenile in relation to the case.

During police interrogation, the accused revealed that the altercation began when Saw stepped out of the Ram Navami procession and engaged in a verbal dispute with them. The situation quickly escalated into violence. Akash Kumar, a resident of Basobar village, along with Vishal Kumar, aged 25 from Bakshidih, and the juvenile, allegedly launched an attack on Saw.
Prasad provided a detailed account, stating, "Vishal and the minor caught hold of Saw, while Karan repeatedly stabbed him with a sharp knife. As a crowd gathered, the knife was snatched from the accused, following which they fled the scene." This swift police response has led to the arrests and detention, with the juvenile being sent to a correctional home as per legal procedures.
