The incident occurred on Thursday around 5:30 pm at the Tatisilwai Railway Station. According to officials, the 22-year-old victim was waiting to board a train to Ranchi. The accused jawan, who was stationed for guard duty on a defence logistics train, allegedly took the woman to an empty train coach and committed the crime.

A Railway Protection Force (RPF) official stated that the Army personnel was reportedly in an inebriated state when he carried out the assault. The accused is a resident of the Sarha police station area in Prayagraj district, Uttar Pradesh, and was posted with the 42 Medium Regiment in Patiala, Punjab.

Arrest and Judicial Proceedings

The crime came to light when the woman's cries for help alerted bystanders at the railway station. They immediately raised an alarm, prompting Railway police to rush to the scene. The jawan attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended. Officials confirmed that he sustained injuries during the process of his capture.
