Horrific Sexual Assault Rocks Andhra Pradesh's Macherla Town

A 32-year-old woman government employee was subjected to a brutal sexual assault and violent attack inside her own home in Macherla town, Andhra Pradesh, on Thursday afternoon. The shocking incident has sent shockwaves through the community and prompted an intensive police investigation.

Graphic Details of the Assault Emerge

According to police officials, the unidentified assailant approached the woman's residence under the pretense of requesting drinking water. Once inside, he turned violent, tying her up with a scarf and gagging her with cloth before raping her at knifepoint. The attack escalated horrifically when the perpetrator inserted an iron rod into her private parts during the sustained assault.

"The assault took place between 3:30pm and 4pm," confirmed Macherla police inspector Venkata Ramana. "The accused entered the survivor's house by asking for some drinking water. He then forced himself on her."

Medical sources indicated that despite the extreme violence, the woman fortunately did not sustain extensive damage to her private parts. She was initially treated at Narasaraopet area hospital before being transferred to Guntur Government General Hospital's gynecology ward for specialized care.

Victim's Background and Circumstances

The survivor, who works as an attender at a government department, had recently separated from her husband and relocated from Sattenapalli town last year. She lived with her young nephew, who had traveled to Sattenapalli to visit family after completing his Class X examinations, leaving her alone at home during the attack.

During the ordeal, the woman reportedly attempted to deter her attacker by claiming she suffered from an infectious disease, but this desperate plea failed to stop the continued brutality.

Discovery and Medical Response

The assault came to light when the woman's nephew grew concerned after multiple unsuccessful attempts to contact her by phone. Alerting friends and family, they discovered the woman unconscious in her home and immediately notified authorities.

"Her condition is stable," stated Dr. Srinivas Prasad, in-charge superintendent of Guntur GGH. "She has been brought here as a precautionary measure for better treatment."

Medical personnel first transported her to Macherla government hospital before transferring her to Narasaraopet area hospital and ultimately to Guntur for comprehensive gynecological care.

Police Investigation Intensifies

Palnadu district superintendent of police B. Krishna Rao revealed that special teams have been deployed to analyze CCTV footage and gather forensic evidence from the crime scene. Authorities have identified a suspect and launched a coordinated manhunt.

"We have deployed special teams to analyze CCTV footage and other clues from the scene of the crime," SP Krishna Rao told media. "Our officials have identified a suspect and a manhunt has been launched. The accused will be arrested soon."

Political and Community Reaction

The brutal attack has drawn condemnation from local leaders, with Macherla MLA Julakanti Brahmananda Reddy expressing profound shock over the incident. Reddy has personally communicated with Guntur range inspector-general Sarvashreshth Tripathi regarding the investigation's progress.

In accordance with Supreme Court directives protecting the privacy of sexual assault survivors, the victim's identity has not been disclosed to the public or media.
