Ahmedabad Crime Branch Apprehends Two Notorious Fugitives in High-Stakes Operation
In a significant crackdown on organized crime, the Ahmedabad city crime branch executed a high-risk operation on Monday, resulting in the arrest of two notorious fugitives hailing from Kota, Rajasthan. The meticulously planned seven-hour mission successfully thwarted their alleged plans to expand criminal networks and launch extortion activities within Ahmedabad.
Identities and Criminal Backgrounds of the Accused
The arrested individuals have been identified as Aman Saiyad (25), a resident of Bakra Mandi in the Sajid Eda area under Kishorpura police station in Kota, and Suhaib Pathan (26), residing in the Patanpol area under Ketuni Pol police station in Kota. According to police reports, both men possess extensive criminal histories, with more than 20 offences registered against them in Rajasthan. Their records include serious charges such as organized extortion, attempted murder, targeted shootings, and violations under the Arms Act.
Gang Affiliation and Alleged Criminal Intent
Investigators revealed that the duo recently aligned themselves with the infamous Ravi Godara gang. They were reportedly tasked with identifying potential targets in Ahmedabad to establish an extortion module, aiming to intimidate local businessmen and execute criminal activities. This move was part of a broader strategy to expand the gang's influence into Gujarat.
Operation Details and Tactical Manoeuvres
Acting on specific human intelligence inputs, crime branch teams placed the suspects under discreet surveillance upon learning of their movements in Ahmedabad. The operation quickly escalated into a prolonged chase as the accused attempted to evade arrest by frequently changing locations. Through nearly seven hours of coordinated tracking and tactical manoeuvring, the teams managed to corner and apprehend both suspects without any injuries, showcasing the precision and effectiveness of the police response.
Preventive Action and Inter-State Coordination
Senior officials emphasized that the timely action prevented the gangsters from establishing a foothold in the city. "The objective was to intercept them before they could execute any crime or intimidate local businessmen," an officer stated. Following the arrest, the crime branch initiated coordination with Rajasthan police. After completing preliminary legal procedures in Ahmedabad, the accused will be handed over to Kota police for further investigation and production before the court.
This operation underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat organized crime and maintain public safety across state borders.
