In a swift operation, Patna police have apprehended four individuals allegedly responsible for a daring house burglary within the secure confines of the Police Colony area. The incident, which left a senior citizen bereft of valuables, was solved within days following a meticulous investigation.
Details of the Police Colony Burglary
The crime occurred on the night of December 29, when unidentified intruders broke into a home in the Police Colony under the Gardanibagh police station limits. The perpetrators made off with a haul of valuable items, including a television set, multiple cellphones, and other personal belongings.
The homeowner, 63-year-old Girja Devi, who is the wife of the late Randhir Kumar Singh, reported the theft to the authorities. She filed a formal complaint on December 30, prompting the police to register a case and launch an immediate probe.
Swift Police Action Leads to Arrests
Under the directives of City SP (Central) Diksha, a dedicated investigation team was formed under the leadership of the SDPO (Secretariat-I). "Leveraging technical evidence and reliable inputs, the team carried out targeted raids that led to the arrest of the four accused," stated SP Diksha.
The police successfully identified and arrested the following accused, all hailing from Araria district:
- Mohammad Rashid (22)
- His brother, Mohammad Miraj (21) – both residents of Farsadangi Palasi Urlaha under Palasi police station.
- Mohammad Haroon (20)
- Mohammad Manzoor (50)
Recovery of Stolen Property and Further Steps
The police raids proved highly fruitful, leading to the recovery of almost all stolen items. The seized property from the accused includes:
- Two television sets
- Eight mobile phones
- One keypad
- One tablet
- One wristwatch
Providing background on the accused, the SP noted that all four were originally from Araria district and were living on rent in Patna while engaged in minor work. The police have initiated further legal proceedings against the arrested individuals.
