A joyous New Year's celebration turned into a tragedy near Lucknow when a car lost control and plunged into a canal, claiming two lives and leaving one person critically injured. The fatal accident occurred on Wednesday night near Rajauli Para village in the Gudamba area.
Details of the Tragic Accident
The vehicle was travelling from Lucknow towards Kursi when the driver reportedly lost control. The car skidded on the stretch near Behta Mati-Para village and overturned into a nearby canal. Alert villagers who witnessed the incident immediately informed the local police authorities.
Police teams rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. The car was pulled out of the canal. The two deceased were identified as Vinod Yadav (45), a property dealer from Palia Kursi road in Barabanki, and Arun (23). Their injured companion, Kunwar, sustained serious injuries in the crash.
Aftermath and Investigation
Both Vinod and Arun were declared dead on arrival by medical personnel. The injured survivor, Kunwar, was immediately rushed to CHC Gudamba for emergency treatment. According to the latest updates, he remains under medical observation but is in stable condition.
SHO Gudamba, Prabhatesh Srivastava, confirmed the sequence of events. "The injured were immediately rushed to CHC Gudamba. The local police are investigating the accident and taking all necessary measures at the scene," Srivastava stated.
Families Demand Answers Amid Grief
The accident has left the families of the victims devastated and demanding a thorough probe. Vinod Yadav's brother, Virendra Yadav, has requested that the police question the injured survivor, Kunwar, to establish a clear sequence of events leading to the crash.
The grief is particularly profound for Arun's family. His father, Santosh Rawat, expressed immense sorrow, revealing that his son was recently married and his wife is expecting a child. The tragedy has cut short a life full of new beginnings and promise.
Local authorities continue to investigate the exact cause of the accident. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of road travel, especially during nighttime and after festive celebrations.
