Noida Authority CEO Conducts Rigorous Inspection, Imposes Strict Penalties for Civic Lapses
In a decisive move to address civic negligence, Noida Authority CEO Krishna Karunesh conducted an extensive inspection across several sectors on Monday. The inspection focused on sanitation, drainage systems, road conditions, civic maintenance, and encroachments, leading to immediate disciplinary actions against staff and contractors.
Immediate Removal of Sanitation Workers and Salary Withholdings
During the inspection, a significant heap of rubbish was discovered near E-9 in Sector 8. As a result, sanitation workers Rahul and Soni, along with health supervisor Shriprakash Mishra, were promptly removed from their duties due to poor sanitation performance in the area.
In Sector 57, rubbish was found near house number C-4, and debris was identified between C-60 and C-63. Sanitation worker Azad was removed following this discovery. Additionally, the salary of junior engineer Harendra Malik was withheld for a period of ten days as a disciplinary measure.
Sector 63 presented multiple issues, including rubbish, dry leaves, and branches littering the central verge and internal roads. A drain was also found clogged with waste. Consequently, sanitation worker Dharmveer and supervisor Akash were removed from their positions. A formal warning was issued to the concerned manager, and the contractor received a notice threatening blacklisting if improvements were not made.
Penalties and Directives for Contractors and Agencies
The door-to-door rubbish collection service was deemed unsatisfactory during the inspection. CEO Krishna Karunesh directed officials to impose a substantial penalty of Rs 5 lakh on the responsible agency, M/s AG Enviro Infra Project Pvt Ltd, for failing to meet required standards.
Damaged drains were identified at various locations, with officials instructed to carry out necessary repairs without delay. In Sector 11, near the H-block market, directives were issued to install precast slabs over drains to enhance safety and functionality.
Additional Cleaning and Encroachment Removal Orders
In Sector 55, rubbish was found lying openly, prompting an immediate order for cleaning. Sector 62 had leaves and horticulture waste on the road, with officials directed to clear the debris promptly. A service road in the area was also found closed and dirty; authorities were instructed to clean it regularly and reopen it for public use.
Near the Hanuman temple in Baraula village, huts were discovered constructed on Authority land. Officials were directed to remove these encroachments to reclaim the public property.
Survey and Renovation Plans for Banquet Halls
In a broader initiative, the CEO directed officials to conduct a comprehensive survey of all banquet halls in Noida. Where necessary, renovation work is to be undertaken to ensure these facilities meet safety and maintenance standards.
This inspection underscores the Noida Authority's commitment to improving civic infrastructure and holding accountable those responsible for maintenance lapses. The actions taken reflect a zero-tolerance policy towards negligence in public upkeep.
