In a significant administrative outreach initiative, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maharajswa Samadhan Shivir campaign in Nashik district is now being extended to the village level. This strategic move aims to bring government services and grievance resolution directly to citizens' doorsteps, ensuring that rural populations receive timely assistance without having to travel to distant administrative centers.
Campaign Launch Coincides with Dr. Ambedkar's Birth Anniversary
District Collector Ayush Prasad has issued directives for all administrative departments to implement this expanded campaign effectively, with operations commencing on April 14. This start date has been carefully chosen to align with the birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, symbolizing the commitment to social justice and accessible governance. The primary objective remains clear: to resolve citizens' grievances and pending applications through immediate legal resolutions while disseminating crucial information about various welfare schemes to even the most remote communities.
From Circle Level to Village Doorsteps: A Response to Rural Demand
Originally, these administrative camps were scheduled to be conducted at the circle level, which encompasses groups of several gram panchayats, between March and May. To date, the district has successfully organized sessions in 41 circles, benefiting an impressive 29,746 individuals through various government schemes. However, following a recent tour by Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, where a substantial number of representations were received from rural areas, the administration recognized the need for a more localized approach.
A senior officer from the district administration explained: "The decision to shift from circle headquarters to respective villages was driven by the overwhelming feedback from rural communities. This expansion ensures that administrative services are not just accessible but are delivered where they are most needed."
Structured Implementation with Priority to Populous Villages
Collector Ayush Prasad has meticulously charted a program that prioritizes populous villages for these visits. To guarantee comprehensive service delivery, the administration has made it mandatory for key taluka-level officials to be present at each camp. This includes the tehsildar, block development officer, taluka agriculture officer, and supply officer, ensuring that multiple departmental concerns can be addressed simultaneously in a coordinated manner.
Evening Camps to Accommodate Agricultural and Climatic Concerns
Understanding the practical challenges faced by rural citizens, especially farmers, the camps have been scheduled during evening hours. The officer added: "To ensure people do not suffer from the intense summer heat and to avoid disrupting agricultural schedules, all camps will be held between 5 PM and 7 PM." These sessions will take place at prominent local venues such as gram panchayat offices or community social halls, making them easily accessible and familiar to residents.
