Mysuru District Administration Honors Public Servants with Prestigious Awards
In a significant ceremony held at Kiru Rangamandira in Mysuru on Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Lakshmikanth Reddy G presented the Sarvottama Seva Award to ten government employees. This event, organized jointly by the district administration and the Karnataka State Government Employees Association, aimed to recognize and celebrate exceptional dedication, efficiency, and integrity in public service.
Recognizing Merit in Government Service
Inaugurating the 2023 awards, Deputy Commissioner Lakshmikanth Reddy G emphasized the importance of acknowledging merit within the government sector. He noted that while private organizations often motivate their staff through financial incentives, the government relies on recognition programs like the Sarvottama Seva Award to boost morale and encourage superior service delivery.
The Deputy Commissioner stated, "With administrative challenges continually increasing, it is crucial for employees to upgrade their skills and maintain high professional standards. Award recipients should serve as role models, inspiring their colleagues to strive for excellence."
Coordinated Efforts for State Development
Zilla Panchayat CEO Yukesh Kumar highlighted that a state's overall development depends heavily on the coordinated efforts of various government departments. He stressed the necessity of identifying and honoring employees who demonstrate exceptional dedication, honesty, and creativity in their roles.
District President CP Arun Kumar provided historical context, revealing that the award tradition began in 2006. Since 2021, the award has included a substantial cash prize of Rs 25,000, further enhancing its prestige and motivational value.
