Bokaro District Initiates Digital Preparations for 2027 Census with Comprehensive Training Program
In a significant move towards modernizing national data collection, ground works for the 2027 census have officially commenced in Bokaro district. Officials are currently undergoing specialized training to conduct house listing and housing enumeration using advanced tablet and mobile-based applications, marking a shift towards fully digital data collection methods.
Training Session Inaugurated by District Commissioner
On Wednesday, a crucial training session was held at the DPRC building auditorium, inaugurated by District Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha. Addressing a gathering of officials and technical assistants, DC Jha emphasized the critical importance of the census exercise, highlighting its pivotal role in shaping future government policies and development plans across the region.
"The upcoming census will rely heavily on digital technology, with enumerators collecting information directly through mobile devices and tablets instead of traditional paper forms," stated DC Jha. "The adoption of this system is expected to make the data collection process faster, more accurate, and more transparent, ultimately benefiting governance and public welfare."
Focus on Digital Tools and Procedures
The training program is designed to equip officers, including block development officers (BDOs), circle officers (COs), and technical assistants, with a thorough understanding of digital tools and procedures. DC Jha advised participants to engage actively with the training materials and resolve any doubts with trainers to ensure smooth field-level operations without technical difficulties.
During the sessions, officials are being familiarized with:
- The use of specialized mobile applications for data entry
- Digital data entry procedures and protocols
- Methods for uploading information in real time to central databases
Trainers are also explaining how the digital system will help minimize errors and ensure better monitoring of census activities, enhancing overall data integrity.
Implementation and Future Steps
Once trained, the officers and staff will proceed to conduct house listing and housing enumeration in their respective areas as part of the first phase of Census 2027. This digital approach is anticipated to streamline operations, reduce paperwork, and provide more reliable data for policy-making and resource allocation.
The initiative reflects a broader trend towards digitization in government processes, with Bokaro district setting an example for efficient and tech-driven public administration. As preparations continue, officials remain committed to leveraging technology for a successful and impactful census in 2027.
