Priyanka Gandhi Compares Congress Battle to Gandhi's Freedom Struggle
Priyanka Gandhi: Congress Fighting Modi Empire Like Gandhi

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has drawn a powerful parallel between her party's current political struggle and Mahatma Gandhi's historic fight against British imperialists. During back-to-back election rallies in Bihar, she launched a sharp critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign language and governance style.

Gandhi's Legacy Invoked in Modern Political Battle

Addressing enthusiastic crowds in Katihar, Bhagalpur, and Purnea districts on November 9, 2025, Priyanka Gandhi made striking historical comparisons. She asserted that the INDIA bloc and Congress are fighting the same battle that Mahatma Gandhi once fought against the British imperialists. According to her, the current political struggle represents a continuation of the fight for people's rights and truth.

"The battle that the INDIA bloc and Congress are fighting today is the same battle that Mahatma Gandhi once fought against the British imperialists," she declared at the rallies. "Even today, we are fighting for your rights and the truth... fighting against an empire, which is the Modi empire."

Criticism of PM Modi's Campaign Language

Priyanka Gandhi specifically targeted Prime Minister Modi's choice of words during election campaigns in Bihar. She accused the Prime Minister of not maintaining the dignity of his post by using terms like 'katta' (country-made pistol) and 'donali' (double-barrel gun) in his public addresses.

She highlighted what she called a contradiction in the Prime Minister's approach. "On one hand, the PM hailed 'Vande Mataram', which stood for non-violence, on the other, he used words like katta and donali at public rallies," she pointed out, suggesting this represented a disconnect between professed values and actual practice.

Threat to Democratic Rights

The Congress leader expressed serious concerns about the state of democratic rights in the country. She claimed that the rights for which Mahatma Gandhi fought are in danger today, with the most important being the right to vote. According to her observations, the current government operates by suppressing people and dividing communities.

Priyanka also questioned the authenticity of BJP's nationalism, describing it as "fake nationalism" that only surfaces during election periods. She specifically mentioned the Agnipath scheme as having demotivated Bihar's youth who previously prepared for Army recruitment with genuine nationalistic fervor.

The political leader's comments come at a crucial time in Bihar's electoral landscape, where the Congress party and its INDIA bloc allies are seeking to challenge the ruling NDA's dominance. Her speeches in these key districts reflect the intensifying political battle as election season progresses.
