The Prayagraj Airport civil enclave has made a remarkable leap in passenger satisfaction, according to the latest official survey. The Airports Authority of India's (AAI) Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) for July to December 2025 shows Prayagraj achieving a stunning climb, securing the 12th position in all-India rankings.
A Meteoric Rise in National Rankings
In a significant improvement, Prayagraj Airport jumped an impressive 25 places from its previous rank of 37th to secure the 12th position nationwide. The survey, conducted every six months by the AAI, covered 62 airports across India that handle only domestic flights. Prayagraj's success is underscored by its score of 4.82 out of a maximum of 5.00, reflecting a vastly enhanced passenger experience.
Top Performers and State-Wide Excellence
At the national level, the top rank was jointly secured by airports in Khajuraho and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, and Aurangabad in Maharashtra. Khajuraho and Bhopal maintained their top-tier performance from the previous survey.
The survey also highlighted a strong showing from airports in Uttar Pradesh. Bareilly Airport led the state's performance, securing the first position in UP and 7th rank nationally. The newly prominent Ayodhya Airport followed closely, taking second in the state and 10th in the country.
Behind the Scores: Parameters and Future Goals
AAI officials gather feedback directly from passengers on-site, assessing services based on more than 30 critical parameters. These include the efficiency and behaviour of check-in staff, thoroughness and waiting times during security checks, ease of terminal navigation, and the overall sense of safety and convenience for travelers.
Prayagraj Airport Director, Rajesh Chawla, stated that providing superior facilities to passengers remains the airport's primary goal. He emphasized that sustained efforts are underway to ensure Prayagraj features among the top 10 airports in the country in future surveys.
Praveen Patel, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Prayagraj Airport Advisory Committee, hailed the improved ranking as a major accomplishment. He congratulated the airport administration and noted that efforts are being made to increase the number of flights from Prayagraj, which would further boost connectivity and passenger convenience.
