On December 31, 2026, the night sky over Dubai will be illuminated by a staggering 48 separate fireworks shows launched from 40 different locations. This marks a significant increase from the 36 displays held the previous year, solidifying the city's reputation for hosting world-class celebrations. The shows are strategically distributed to offer breathtaking views from every corner while managing crowd flow effectively.
The fireworks will burst into colour from Dubai's most famous landmarks. The list includes the towering Burj Khalifa, the majestic Burj Al Arab, the picturesque Palm Jumeirah and Palm Jebel Ali, along with Dubai Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour, Bluewaters, Expo City Dubai, Global Village, and Atlantis The Palm. This widespread arrangement is designed to give residents and millions of expected visitors a front-row seat to the dazzling displays, reducing congestion at any single point.
Security on a Massive Scale
To ensure the safety of all attendees during this massive gathering, Dubai authorities are deploying the most comprehensive New Year's Eve security operation in the city's history. A combined force of over 23,000 security personnel from 55 government and private agencies will be on duty.
The operation will be led by 9,884 officers from the Dubai Police, supported by 13,502 private security staff. Their presence will be highly visible and mobile across the city, utilizing 1,625 security patrols, 36 bicycle patrols, 34 mounted patrols, and 53 marine rescue boats. The Civil Defence department is also on high alert, with 1,754 personnel and 165 vehicles ready to respond to any emergency. Officials are urging the public to follow all safety instructions, use public transport, and celebrate responsibly.
Seamless Transport and Medical Readiness
Anticipating a huge influx of people, Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has laid out extensive plans to keep the city moving. A fleet managed by 5,565 RTA staff will include 14,000 taxis, 1,300 public buses, and 107 metro trains to ferry revelers across the emirate.
Medical preparedness matches the scale of the event. Health authorities are deploying 236 ambulances, 635 paramedics, and 1,900 medical staff on standby. 12 hospitals and several outdoor clinics have been prepared to provide instant care, ensuring a swift response to any health-related incidents during the celebrations.
