Ahead of the New Year, Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Choudhary, launched a series of development projects in Munger district on Sunday, focusing on tourism, healthcare, and agriculture. The key highlight was the inauguration of a new boat ride facility at the scenic Kharagpur Lake, a move aimed at putting the region on the tourism map.

Tourism and Infrastructure Get a Major Push

During his visit, Deputy CM Choudhary formally opened the boat ride service at Kharagpur Lake. This lake is renowned for its natural hot springs, dense forests, and rich biodiversity. He also inaugurated the completed beautification works around the lake area.

Speaking to the media, Choudhary expressed strong confidence in the project's potential. He stated that developing Kharagpur Lake would give Munger district a new identity on the international tourism circuit. He emphasized that this initiative is expected to generate large-scale employment opportunities and significantly boost the local economy.

Following the inaugurations, the deputy chief minister held a detailed review meeting with officials from various departments. He examined the overall development plan for the lake and issued necessary directives to ensure the timely and quality execution of all related projects.

Healthcare and Agricultural Initiatives Launched

In a significant step for public health, Choudhary inaugurated medical services at the 100-bed Sadar Hospital in Haveli Kharagpur. He described this as a major achievement for the region, noting that the hospital has been equipped with modern medical equipment and adequate staff to provide improved healthcare services to local residents.

On the agricultural front, the deputy chief minister laid the foundation stone for infrastructure development at five primary vegetable producer cooperative societies in Munger district. This work is being carried out under the Bihar State Vegetable Processing and Marketing Cooperative Scheme.

"This initiative will provide better marketing facilities to farmers and help increase their income," Choudhary said, highlighting the scheme's goal of supporting the agricultural community.

Samrat Choudhary conveyed his firm belief that the ongoing development works in the sectors of health, tourism, and agriculture would inject fresh momentum into Munger district's progress.
