TTD's Grand Sita-Rama Kalyanam at Vontimitta Temple Set for April 1

The stage is fully prepared for the magnificent conduct of the Sita-Rama Kalyanam at the ancient Kodandarama Swamy temple located in Vontimitta, within Kadapa district, on April 1. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is orchestrating elaborate and comprehensive arrangements for this mega religious event, which is anticipated to draw an enormous turnout of devotees from across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

State Festival Status and Chief Minister's Participation

As the kalyanam celebrated at the Vontimitta temple has been officially designated as a state festival, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will present pattu vastrams, or silk garments, on behalf of the state government to the temple on April 1. This designation underscores the cultural and religious significance of the event, elevating its profile and ensuring state-level support and recognition.

Special Laddu Preparation and Distribution

In a remarkable logistical effort, TTD has prepared a special batch of 85,000 Tirupati laddus specifically for distribution among the devotees participating in the event. Nearly 300 Srivari Sevak pilgrim volunteers dedicated five hours to meticulously packaging these 85,000-odd laddus. The packaged laddus were then dispatched in specially designated vehicles from Tirumala to Vontimitta, ensuring their timely arrival for the festivities.

Additionally, Bengaluru-based Bilva Infra Company managing director S Anil Nair contributed ₹1 crore to TTD's BIRRD Trust. These donations highlight the widespread support and financial backing for the temple's activities and the upcoming event.

The Sita-Rama Kalyanam at Vontimitta is not only a significant religious ceremony but also a major cultural event that brings together communities from multiple states, supported by both governmental and private contributions.
