A district judge's court in Patna on Tuesday refused bail to Pradeep Kumar and Talebar Singh, security guards associated with tutor Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir.
Court Proceedings
During the hearing, the court requested an updated case diary from the investigating agency before proceeding further. The matter is now scheduled for the next hearing on June 20.
Khan Sir's Anticipatory Bail
Khan Sir's anticipatory bail plea is also slated for hearing on June 20. Meanwhile, the court has maintained its no-coercive-action order, offering temporary relief to the educator.
Background of the Case
The case stems from an alleged attack outside Khan Global Studies in Patna on June 2. Based on a complaint from a member of the coaching institute's management committee, Kadamkuan police station registered an FIR naming educator Roshan Anand, his brother Prince Yadav, Abhishek, and several unidentified individuals.
The controversy intensified after Anand accused Khan Sir of being responsible for his brother's death and demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe. This demand has drawn political attention, with Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav writing to Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary seeking a CBI investigation into the matter.
Nepal Police Detentions
In a parallel development, Nepal Police have detained five friends of Prince as part of the investigation into his suspicious death. According to Patna police sources, the detentions were made while investigators await the post-mortem report. “The exact cause of the death will be known from the medical report,” a police officer said.
Investigators in Nepal have also examined CCTV footage from the hotel where Prince was staying and seized several items from his room, including his mobile phone, medicines, and other personal belongings, as part of the ongoing investigation.
