Alva's Traditional Day 2026: A Grand Celebration of India's Cultural Heritage
The Vidyagiri campus of Alva's Education Foundation in Mangaluru transformed into a vibrant tapestry of India's diverse traditions during the 'Alva's Traditional Day-2026' celebrations held on Saturday. The event served as a magnificent confluence of cultural expressions from across the nation, drawing enthusiastic participation from students, dignitaries, and special guests.
Star-Studded Inauguration with Shivarajkumar
The celebrations were inaugurated by renowned Kannada actor Shivarajkumar alongside his wife Geetha, who both expressed deep appreciation for the institution's efforts in creating a miniature version of India's cultural richness. The actor arrived at the venue through a colorful cultural procession representing various Indian regions, setting a festive tone for the day.
In his inaugural address, Shivarajkumar praised the spirit of inclusiveness displayed by the students, stating: "To achieve anything in life, one must have a generous heart. I see that quality here. Karnataka's culture lies in embracing everyone." He urged students to remain united and grow together, emphasizing the importance of cultural harmony.
Recalling his earlier visit to Moodubidire during the filming of 'Smile', the veteran actor expressed gratitude for the continued affection he has received over four decades, noting: "I feel blessed to receive the same love even today." He further energized the gathering by singing and dancing to popular Kannada songs, including numbers from his debut film 'Anand' and songs associated with his late brother Puneeth Rajkumar.

Geetha, addressing the gathering, described the experience as "a blessing to witness multiple cultures on a single platform" and commended the students for their enthusiasm and dedication.
