Marathi actress Varsha Usgaonkar, who is currently featuring in the show 'Do Duniya Ek Dil', has shared her aspirations for future roles, emphasizing her desire to portray empowered women on screen.

Desire for Empowered Roles

Speaking exclusively to IANS during the trailer launch of her upcoming historical drama 'Kaun Sahi', Usgaonkar was asked about the kind of characters she wishes to play. She responded, "I have always wished to play an empowered woman on screen - like a doctor or a lawyer, or a businesswoman. I would like to play such a strong character."

Thoughts on OTT Platforms

When questioned about working on OTT platforms, the actress acknowledged the quality of content being produced. "There is a lot of good work happening on the OTT. A lot of good web series are being made. I would love to work on those as well." However, she added that she has not yet received a suitable offer, stating, "I have not been offered a good role on the OTT till now, and when it was offered, I could not do it as I was busy with other commitments."

Cheating Case

In a separate incident, Varsha Usgaonkar was reportedly duped of approximately Rs 47 lakh by a man posing as a builder and film producer, according to the Mumbai Police. The accused, identified as Avinash Jadhav, allegedly cheated several actresses. A case was registered at Mumbai's Shivaji Park Police Station.

The accused initially returned Rs 4.52 lakh to build trust but later stopped payments. When victims attempted to contact him, he changed his mobile number and address. The victims then traced him to Dombivli, where he allegedly threatened them and refused to return the money, daring them to take any action they wished.
