Ex-RHOP Star Mia Thornton Arrested in Atlanta Theft Case

Former Real Housewives of Potomac celebrity Mia Thornton found herself in legal trouble this week when she was taken into custody at one of America's busiest airports. The reality television personality faced serious allegations involving high-value property theft from a furnished accommodation in Atlanta.

The Airport Arrest and Charges

Law enforcement officials apprehended Thornton at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Wednesday. The arrest came after authorities issued a warrant for her involvement in a significant theft case. According to police documents, the reality star was charged with larceny for allegedly stealing furniture worth approximately $11,000 from a rental property.

Body camera footage from the arrest scene revealed that Thornton was aware of the outstanding warrant against her. The former Bravo star was processed at the Fulton County Jail following her detention at the airport.

Details of the Alleged Furniture Theft

The police report obtained by CBS News Atlanta provided specific details about the incident that led to Thornton's arrest. The management company of a condo located on Marietta Street accused Thornton and another individual, identified as Jared McGriff, of removing all the furniture and television from the rental unit.

According to the complaint, the pair "suddenly moved out of the unit in the middle of the night" on October 28, taking the entire furnished contents with them. The management company reported the missing items, which included various furniture pieces and electronic appliances valued at around $11,000.

Thornton's Recent Life Changes and Career Moves

This legal development comes during a period of significant transition for the television personality. In April, Thornton announced her departure from the popular Bravo reality series Real Housewives of Potomac after appearing for four seasons, beginning from the show's sixth season.

Following her exit from the television program, Thornton revealed her decision to relocate to Atlanta, marking a new chapter in her personal and professional life. On her social media platforms, she expressed enthusiasm about this move, mentioning her anticipation for "exciting opportunities" in the city.

The reality star had promised her followers that she would share details of her journey, hinting at significant career developments in the pipeline. However, this recent arrest has undoubtedly created an unexpected twist in her Atlanta relocation story.
