In a significant push for modernized law enforcement, Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara has called for the expansion of an advanced AI-powered surveillance system across the entire Chikkamagaluru district. The minister issued this directive following a detailed inspection of the newly operational Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) in Chikkamagaluru city on Friday.
High-Tech Command Centre Showcases Advanced Capabilities
The state-of-the-art command centre, established at an estimated project cost of Rs 1.75 crore, represents a major technological leap for local policing. Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Dayama provided the minister with a comprehensive demonstration of the facility's sophisticated functionalities.
The centre currently integrates 41 solar-powered AI surveillance cameras strategically deployed throughout Chikkamagaluru city. These intelligent cameras utilize artificial intelligence algorithms to monitor public spaces continuously, enabling proactive crime prevention and enhanced situational awareness for law enforcement personnel.
