Popular television actor Anuj Sachdeva, recognised for his work in serials like ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’, has revealed a harrowing incident of violence he faced at his Mumbai residence. The actor took to social media to share images of his injuries and a video of the alleged assault, expressing deep distress over personal safety and the subsequent response from law enforcement authorities.
Social Media Outcry: Actor Posts Evidence of Attack
On December 14, 2025, Anuj Sachdeva posted a series of photographs showing visible injuries on his body, sustained during an alleged attack by a fellow resident in his housing society in Goregaon, Mumbai. In a detailed caption, the actor did not just recount the physical ordeal but also highlighted the ongoing mental trauma.
"The injuries I sustained on the night of the assault. Apart from that, the mental trauma I have gone through every night thinking how unsafe is Mumbai today," Sachdeva wrote. He voiced severe disappointment with the judicial system, stating, "The culprit is roaming around scott-free. ABSOLUTELY DISHEARTENED by how the law of the land functions. This is a MIGHTY FAILURE of our system."
Disturbing Video and Alleged Motive Behind the Violence
Alongside the photos, Sachdeva shared a video that purportedly captures moments of the aggressive confrontation. According to the actor's account, the conflict began when he raised an issue about illegal parking in the society's common group chat. The accused neighbour, allegedly enraged by this, first tried to hit Sachdeva's dog and then attacked the actor himself with a rod.
The clip shows an individual using offensive language and behaving violently. Sachdeva explained his reason for making the video public, writing, "I am posting this evidence before this person tries to do any damage to me or my property." He identified the location as Harmony Mall Residency in Goregaon West and provided the alleged attacker's flat details, appealing to the public for support to ensure action is taken.
Frustration Mounts as Police Action Remains Elusive
In a deeply concerning update, nearly two weeks after the incident, Anuj Sachdeva reported that no arrest had been made, despite having filed a formal First Information Report (FIR) and submitting all evidence to the police. Through his Instagram Stories, he expressed his frustration: "CULPRIT STILL ROAMING FREELY. FIR DONE. IT’S BEEN 12 DAYS NO ARREST. NO ACTION TAKEN BY MUMBAI POLICE."
This sentiment was echoed in an earlier post where he poignantly noted, "Surviving an attack is one battle. Being unheard afterward is another." The case has since garnered significant attention online, with fans and netizens rallying behind the actor, demanding accountability and swift justice. The delay in police action, despite the availability of apparent visual evidence, has raised serious questions about citizen safety and procedural efficiency in Mumbai.
