UGC Flags Delhi's National Institute of Management Solution as Fake University
UGC adds Delhi institute to fake universities list

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a stern warning to students and parents, flagging another institution operating without authorization. The regulatory body has added the National Institute of Management Solution (NIMS), Delhi, to its official list of fake universities, cautioning the public against enrolling in this 'self-styled institution'.

UGC Declares Delhi Institute's Degrees Invalid

In a recent public notice, the UGC clarified that the National Institute of Management Solution is not recognised under Section 2(f) or Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Consequently, the institute is not entitled to award degrees. The commission explicitly stated that any degrees or certificates issued by NIMS so far are not valid for the purpose of higher education or securing government employment.

The strongly worded advisory urges parents, students, and the general public to refrain from taking admission in this institute. This action is part of the UGC's ongoing crackdown on unauthorized institutions that mislead students with promises of legitimate degrees.

Earlier Additions and Student Advisory

In a previous notification issued in March 2022, the UGC had also identified two more institutions as fake: the Karnataka Badaganvi Sarkar World Open University Education Society in Belgaum, Karnataka, and St. John’s University in Kishanpattam, Kerala.

The commission consistently advises students to verify the recognition status of any university or institution on the UGC's official website (www.ugc.ac.in) before seeking admission or paying any fees. Relying on degrees from unapproved institutions can lead to significant financial loss and wasted academic years, with no value in the professional or educational sphere.

The UGC's action underscores its commitment to safeguarding the interests of students and maintaining the standards of higher education in India. Prospective students are encouraged to exercise due diligence and only enroll in institutions that are duly recognized by the appropriate statutory bodies.
