HSSC Launches CET Phase 2 Registration for 4,227 Group C Positions
The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has officially commenced the online registration process for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) Phase-II, as per Advertisement Number 04/2026. This significant recruitment initiative is designed to fill a total of 4,227 Group C vacancies across various departments in the state government.
Eligibility and Application Timeline
Only those candidates who successfully cleared the CET Phase-I examination under Advertisement Number 01/2025 for Group C posts are eligible to apply for this second phase. The online application window is now open and will remain accessible until February 23, 2026. All applications must be submitted exclusively through the official HSSC website. Notably, the commission has confirmed that no application fee is required for candidates of any category, making the process completely free of charge.
Examination Pattern and Structure
The CET Phase-II will be conducted as an offline examination using OMR sheets, with the question paper available in both Hindi and English languages. The test will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions, carrying a total of 100 marks. Candidates will have 105 minutes (1 hour and 45 minutes) to complete the exam.
The qualifying marks have been set at 50% for the general category and 40% for reserved categories. A crucial aspect of the marking scheme is that there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. However, if a candidate leaves a question blank without marking the designated “no answer” bubble, one mark will be deducted from their total score.
Selection Process and Merit Criteria
The final selection of candidates will be determined based on their combined performance in both CET Phase-I and the Phase-II written examination. HSSC will shortlist candidates for the Phase-II exam at a ratio of up to ten times the number of available vacancies, using the CET Phase-I scores as the basis. This means that the highest-ranked qualifiers from Phase-I, with a maximum of 10 candidates per vacancy, will be permitted to appear for the Phase-II test.
Following the examination, appointments will be made according to the overall merit list compiled from both phases. The commission will announce the exact examination date and the release schedule for admit cards separately in due course.
