In a significant initiative to empower the next generation, Surat's Disha Foundation is set to kickstart the new year with an impactful leadership program for young minds. The organization will launch the fourth edition of its Public Leadership Camp, aptly named PLC 4.0, at the Millennium School in Surat.
A Confluence of Minds for Nation Building
The two-day camp, scheduled for January 2, is designed with a clear vision: to instill leadership qualities, a strong sense of civic duty, and the core values of nation-building among the youth. Moving beyond theoretical concepts, the program will engage participants with pressing contemporary issues that define India's present and future trajectory.
The curriculum for PLC 4.0 is both comprehensive and forward-looking. It will delve into critical themes such as the role of technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI), pathways for sustainable economic development, the vibrant startup ecosystem, and the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India). The agenda also includes nuanced discussions on global geopolitics and effective governance models, providing a holistic perspective to the attendees.
Stellar Line-up of Speakers and Mentors
The inaugural session of the camp will receive a major boost with an address by former Union minister Suresh Prabhu. His insights are expected to set the tone for the intensive learning experience. Adding further prestige and expertise to the event is S Somnath, the former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), whose journey embodies innovation and strategic leadership.
Guiding the participants through the camp's activities will be Shalini Agarwal, the Commissioner of the Surat Municipal Corporation. Her hands-on experience in urban governance and public administration will offer practical insights into civic leadership and responsibility.
Shaping Future Leaders from the Ground Up
The Public Leadership Camp 4.0 represents a concrete step towards creating a pipeline of informed, responsible, and proactive young leaders. By bringing together seasoned experts from diverse fields—space technology, national policy, and city administration—the Disha Foundation aims to provide a unique mentorship platform.
This initiative underscores the growing recognition of the need to actively cultivate leadership and civic engagement among India's youth. Programs like PLC 4.0 are crucial in equipping them with the knowledge, perspective, and inspiration needed to contribute meaningfully to society and steer the country towards a brighter future.
