MP Board Class 12: 13 Cheating Cases in English Exam

MP Board Class 12 English Exam Sees 13 Cheating Incidents Across Three Districts

The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has reported a total of 13 cases of cheating during the Class 12 Board examination for the English subject. The incidents were identified across the districts of Bhopal, Morena, and Gwalior, highlighting ongoing challenges in maintaining exam integrity.

District-Wise Breakdown of Cheating Cases

According to official reports, 7 cases of cheating were surfaced in Bhopal district, while an additional 6 cases were detected in the combined districts of Morena and Gwalior. A significant cluster of incidents occurred at Bhopal's examination centre number 632711, where 6 of the total cases were recorded.

This concentration of malpractice at a single centre has prompted the MPBSE to issue directives for disciplinary measures against the supervisors involved. The board emphasized that negligence in supervision will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken to uphold examination standards.

CCTV Surveillance Plays Crucial Role in Detection

The detection of these cheating cases was significantly aided by the implementation of CCTV camera surveillance at examination centres. As part of a pilot project this year, MPBSE installed CCTV cameras at 226 centres across nine districts, enabling continuous monitoring of exam proceedings.

Live video feeds from these cameras were streamed to control rooms established at multiple locations:

  • MPBSE headquarters
  • District Collector offices
  • District Education Officer offices

This multi-point monitoring system allowed authorities to detect suspected cheating activities in real-time and identify supervisors who were negligent in their duties.

Examination Scale and Monitoring Response

The Class 12 English examination for Higher Secondary students was conducted on a massive scale across Madhya Pradesh:

  • 3,604 examination centres statewide
  • Approximately 6,12,609 candidates appearing for the exam

The MPBSE examinations commenced on Tuesday, with the English subject being one of the early tests in the schedule. When the Central Control Room monitoring detected irregularities, immediate action orders were dispatched to the affected districts to address the cheating incidents and supervisory lapses.

This proactive approach demonstrates the board's commitment to maintaining the credibility of the examination process through technological intervention and strict enforcement of rules.
