New Vande Bharat Express Connects Punjab and Delhi
Marking a significant upgrade to rail connectivity in Northern India, the Firozpur Cantt-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express is set to begin its commercial operations on Tuesday, November 11. This new, semi-high-speed service promises to be the fastest train on this route, dramatically improving travel links between Punjab and the national capital.
Managed entirely by the Northern Railway (NR) zone, the train will offer a modern and efficient travel experience for passengers.
Schedule, Stoppages, and Timings
The train will operate as train numbers 26462 and 26461 for its respective journeys. It is designed to cover the substantial 486 km distance in just 6 hours and 40 minutes.
On its route, the Vande Bharat Express will make scheduled stops at seven key stations, ensuring connectivity for several major towns and cities. The complete list of stops includes:
- Faridkot
- Bathinda
- Dhuri
- Patiala
- Ambala Cantt
- Kurukshetra
- Panipat
According to the official timetable released by the Ministry of Railways, train number 26462 will depart from Firozpur Cantonment at 07:55 hours and is scheduled to arrive at New Delhi station at 14:35 hours.
For the return journey, train number 26461 will leave from Delhi at 16:00 hours, reaching its final destination, Firozpur Cantt, by 22:35 hours the same evening.
Frequency and Onboard Facilities
Passengers can avail of this service six days a week, as the train will not run on Wednesdays.
The train composition features eight modern coaches, configured to provide comfortable seating. The rake includes seven Air-Conditioned Chair Car coaches and one Executive Air-Conditioned Chair Car coach, catering to different passenger needs and preferences.
