Maitri Ladies Club Hosts Empowering Anand Mela in Barauni Township

In a significant corporate social responsibility initiative, the Maitri Ladies Club of Barauni organized a two-day Anand Mela at the NTPC Barauni Township on February 7–8. The event focused on supporting the local community by distributing essential aids to enhance mobility and foster economic independence.

Distribution of Wheelchairs and Sewing Machines

The highlight of the Mela was the distribution of 10 wheelchairs to differently abled beneficiaries and five sewing machines to needy women. This effort aimed to improve accessibility for those with mobility challenges and provide tools for livelihood generation, empowering women to pursue sewing and tailoring opportunities.

Festive Atmosphere with Stalls and Performances

The Anand Mela featured a vibrant array of stalls, with exclusive food stalls run by Maitri Ladies Club members drawing significant attention. Delicious cuisine and engaging game stalls became major attractions, ensuring an enjoyable experience for visitors across all age groups.

On the second day, the event was enlivened by captivating cultural performances presented by township children and residents. These acts filled the atmosphere with color, enthusiasm, and joy, adding to the festive mood.

Closing Ceremony and Gratitude

The Mela concluded with a much-anticipated Lucky Dip draw, offering several attractive prizes to participants. During the closing ceremony, Dolan Champa Ghosh, President of Maitri Ladies Club, Barauni, expressed heartfelt gratitude.

She thanked the NTPC Barauni team and all club members for their dedicated efforts, which contributed to the grand success of the event. This initiative not only provided immediate support to beneficiaries but also strengthened community bonds through shared activities and celebrations.
