Aman Gupta Sets the Record Straight on Becoming a Shark
Entrepreneur Aman Gupta has been a familiar face on Shark Tank India since its debut in 2021. Over the seasons, he has invested in around 100 companies through the show. While the core panel of Sharks remains, Season 5 introduced several guest Sharks for brief appearances.
The Truth About Joining the Shark Tank
In a recent interview, someone asked Aman if paying money could secure a spot as a Shark on the popular show. Aman responded clearly. He stated that he has never paid any money to be part of Shark Tank India. However, he revealed an interesting pathway. According to him, sponsorship deals can open the door for someone to become a Shark.
Speaking to Humans of Bombay, Aman shared his thoughts. He said, "I hope Shark Tank India makers don't scold me for saying this. I think you become a sponsor and there are some sponsors of Shark Tank India who come on the show." He elaborated further, noting that this practice has occurred in past seasons. "It's been happening for the last few seasons but I don't pay to be a shark. Some of them become a sponsor and then come for a weekend."
Aman's Favorite Shark and Season 5 Dynamics
The conversation also touched on Aman's relationships with fellow Sharks. When asked about his favorite Shark, he admitted, "I don't like all of them." But he quickly named Namita Thapar as his top choice. He praised her, saying, "Namita is my favourite shark. She is outstanding. She is who she is and since season 1, we have had a wonderful bond and it's been growing every year. We also do a lot of deals together."
Season 5 of Shark Tank India features a diverse panel. The Sharks include Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, Aman Gupta, Kunal Bahl, Viraj Bahl, Ritesh Agarwal, Amit Jain, Mohit Yadav, Kanika Tekriwal, Shaily Mehrotra, Hardik Kothiya, and Varun Alagh. Recent episodes have shown some heated exchanges between Anupam Mittal and Aman Gupta, adding drama to the show.
The show continues to captivate audiences with its mix of business pitches and personal interactions among the Sharks.
