Couple Booked for Dangerous Stunt at Pratapgarh Temple

Prayagraj: A couple in Pratapgarh has been booked for filming a dangerous stunt video at the Belha Devi temple ghat campus on Wednesday. The video showed the man identified as Rajpath Patel, a resident of Kandhai, lifting the bike with his bare hands before his wife climbs on in a filmy style. Cops also booked his wife identified as Rekha under sections 126 and 135 and challaned the bike under the Motor Vehicle Act. The cops initiated stern action against the man after the video went viral on social media.

Police Action and Legal Provisions

A senior police officer told TOI that, “Filming a dangerous stunt with wife at the campus of a prominent Pratapgarh temple drew legal action against the man under section 170 of BNSS (preventive measure). The kotwali police initiated the action against the wife under section 126 and 135 of BNSS.” He added, “Police have appealed to the public not to disregard traffic rules and safety standards in pursuit of popularity on social media, as such dangerous stunts pose a serious threat to life and property and constitute violation of the law.”

The viral video prompted swift response from law enforcement, highlighting the risks associated with reckless behavior for online fame. Authorities emphasized that such acts endanger not only the participants but also bystanders and property.
