IUML Slams Kerala Govt for No Compensation in Valparai Accident
IUML Slams Kerala Govt Over Valparai Accident Compensation

The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has strongly criticised the Kerala government for not announcing compensation for the victims of the Valparai accident, calling it a grave injustice. IUML national vice-president KPA Majeed stated that in major accidents of such magnitude, governments typically announce compensation considering the seriousness of the incident.

Lack of Support Raises Concerns

Majeed expressed that the absence of any support for the families of those who died in the Valparai tragedy raises serious concerns. He highlighted that 10 people, including bus driver Noushad, lost their lives in the accident, while three others remain under treatment. The family of Noushad has alleged that he did not receive adequate medical care and was not even allowed to be shifted to another hospital.

Allegations of Discrimination

Majeed also noted that the government promptly announced assistance following the fireworks accident in Thrissur. He alleged that there are widespread complaints of discrimination in this case, as the Valparai victims have been overlooked. He demanded that immediate relief and compensation be provided to the affected families without any further delay.
