Heatwave: School Timings Revised in Five Rajasthan Districts

Jaipur: Amid heatwave predictions, school timings were revised in five more districts on Friday. In Bundi, effective April 24, operating hours for all government and private schools for classes 1 to 8 will be from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The schedule will remain in force until the commencement of summer vacations.

Revised Timings in Various Districts

In Alwar, timings for all government and private schools from pre-primary to class 8 have been changed to 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. from April 27. However, timings for classes 9 to 12 and staff will remain unchanged. In Jaisalmer, the same schedule came into effect from Friday for students up to class 8.

In Karauli, schools for classes 1 to 8 will function from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. from April 27 to May 16. In Phalodi, schools from nursery to class 8 will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. from Saturday.

NREGA Work Hours Adjusted

Meanwhile, the Jaipur district administration revised working hours under the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme in view of severe heatwave conditions. From May 2 until further orders, work timings will be 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a rest break from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

School timings have already been changed in Jaipur for students up to class 8, and in Kota for all students up to class 12.
