Following the incident, non-teaching staff members of the WB University Karmachari Parishad (WBUKP), a unit of the BJP Trade Union Relation Cell, staged a protest. They were joined by members of the WB University Karmachari Sangh (WBUKS), which is affiliated with BMS.
