Ram Charan's sports action drama 'Peddi' hit theaters on June 4, but faced criticism and doubts even before its release. Director Buchi Babu Sana recently addressed one of the team's biggest mistakes.
Trailer of 'Peddi'
In a post-release interview for the production banner, the director shared that the trailer did not represent the film correctly. According to him, it confused many viewers instead of building excitement. He admitted that the editing team packed too many elements into a single scene.
Speaking about it, Buchi Babu said, “We just can't afford such things with big movies. In the trailer, too many things were packed into one scene; it was just too much.”
Creators Helped the Film Grow
Buchi Babu said social media creators played a crucial role in helping the film reach a wider audience. Many content creators shared their honest opinions through reels and videos after watching the movie.
According to the director, these videos sparked curiosity among audiences and helped spread positive word-of-mouth. He believes this support helped 'Peddi' attract more viewers after its release.
Jagapathi Babu Talks About Negativity
Jagapathi Babu, who also appeared in the film, shared his thoughts on the difficult period before the release. He noted the heavy negativity surrounding 'Peddi' and that many believed it would not succeed.
“There was so much negativity,” Jagapathi Babu recalled. “Even the people who wanted it guaranteed it wouldn't happen. I was disappointed. I thought it wouldn't meet my expectations at the start.” The actor said the atmosphere around the film was not positive during its early days.
After its release, the film faced criticism over the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor's character Achiyyamma. Many viewers were uncomfortable with some romantic scenes and expressed their concerns online. Later, the team apologized and confirmed edits.
According to trade analyst Sacnilk, the film's worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 307.98 crore in its 11-day run.
