In a tragic incident on Friday afternoon, four children sustained critical burn injuries after falling into hot industrial ash that had been carelessly dumped along the Bijnor-Moradabad state highway. The victims, aged 12 and 13, were collecting firewood near an orchard when they unknowingly stepped into the smoldering ash and slipped.
Extent of Injuries
According to doctors at the district hospital, the boys suffered over 50% burns on their limbs and other parts of their bodies. They have been referred to a medical facility in Meerut for advanced care.
Official Response
Bijnor District Magistrate Jasjit Kaur stated that a thorough investigation is underway to identify the culprit. “We are trying to determine which factory workers dumped the ash and who is responsible for this negligence. We will take strict action to ensure such life-threatening hazards are not repeated again,” she said. Sadar SDM Ritu Rani added that notices would be issued to those responsible.
