The Meteorological office in Ranchi has announced a significant shift in the weather pattern for Jharkhand, forecasting a welcome rise in the biting cold that has gripped the state. Officials indicate that a gradual increase in nighttime temperatures is on the horizon, bringing relief from the recent chill.
Gradual Warming Trend Expected
According to the forecast issued on Sunday, the minimum temperatures across Jharkhand are set to climb steadily. Deputy Director of the Ranchi Met office, Abhishek Anand, stated that while there will be no immediate change in the next 24 hours, a warming trend will commence thereafter. Over the following three days, the minimum temperature is expected to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
Current Conditions and Detailed Forecast
The weather department provided a snapshot of the recent extremes recorded across the state. On Sunday, Chaibasa recorded the highest maximum temperature at 27°C. In contrast, the capital city Ranchi experienced colder conditions. The Kanke area in Ranchi registered the state's lowest minimum temperature at a chilly 2.5°C. Within Ranchi city itself, the mercury oscillated between a maximum of 22.2°C and a minimum of 6.2°C.
Anand explained the meteorological reason behind the impending change: "The chilly northerly winds flowing in from the northern part of the country will subside due to western disturbances." This shift in wind patterns is the primary driver for the anticipated temperature increase.
Fog and Dry Weather Outlook
Alongside the temperature update, the Met office provided details on other weather phenomena. Residents can expect shallow to moderate fog in the morning at isolated places. However, the skies are predicted to become mainly clear later in the day. The overall forecast suggests that dry weather is most likely to prevail across all places in Jharkhand in the coming days.
This forecast offers a reprieve from the cold wave conditions, signaling a transition towards more moderate winter weather for the region. Citizens are advised to stay updated with further bulletins from the meteorological department.
