Several parts of Himachal Pradesh, especially in the low and mid hills, continued to reel under intense heat on Wednesday, with Una recording the highest day temperature of 44 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Shimla, temperatures stayed significantly above normal across several parts of the state.
Key Temperature Readings
Neri in Hamirpur recorded a maximum of 40.7 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 39.3 degrees Celsius, Kangra 38.8 degrees Celsius, Mandi 38.6 degrees Celsius, and Bhuntar in Kullu district 36 degrees Celsius.
Shimla recorded a maximum of 29 degrees Celsius, which is 3.2 degrees above normal.
Cooler Regions
Kalpa in Kinnaur district registered a day temperature of 25.4 degrees Celsius, while Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti remained relatively cooler at 20.9 degrees Celsius.
Kukumseri in Lahaul-Spiti recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 4.7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
The heatwave conditions are expected to persist in the coming days, with the meteorological department advising residents to take necessary precautions.
