Bawankule Challenges Congress President Over Allegations

Nagpur: Revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Thursday dared Congress state president Harshvardhan Sapkal to prove his allegation that Mahayuti pressured Congress's MLC poll candidate from Amravati to withdraw from the contest. Bawankule, who also serves as the guardian minister of Amravati, stated that the Mahayuti coalition had no reason to engineer any withdrawal since they already possessed a majority. "Show me one phone call, extract the data from the mobiles. Why would we even need to do this?" he said.

Criticism of Congress Corporators

Bawankule further remarked that Nagpur city Congress corporators have not yet publicly met to support their MLC candidate Atul Londhe. He noted, "These corporators in Nagpur are intelligent; they know there is no point in voting. It would have been better for Congress to simply withdraw and save everyone the trouble."

Chandrapur Paddy Scam Issue

On a separate matter, Bawankule announced that he would place the Chandrapur paddy scam letters from MPCC chief whip Nana Patole before chief minister Devendra Fadnavis during the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. He added that if Patole shares a copy with him, he would push for an inquiry into the matter.
