World Earth Day Celebrated with Water Conservation Seminar at Buxar Engineering College
A significant seminar and a series of engaging activities dedicated to water conservation were successfully organized on Wednesday at the Government Engineering College (GEC) in Buxar, commemorating World Earth Day. The event was meticulously conducted under the expert guidance of the 30 Bihar Battalion NCC, Buxar, with the primary objective of disseminating awareness about critical environmental protection, fostering sustainable development, and advocating for the responsible utilization of natural resources.
Principal Emphasizes Urgent Environmental Action
College principal Ram Naresh Rai addressed the assembled gathering, delivering a compelling speech that underscored the pressing need to safeguard the environment. He articulated concerns over escalating pollution levels, increasing water scarcity, and the excessive exploitation of natural resources, emphasizing that these challenges make it imperative for every individual to adopt eco-friendly practices. Rai passionately encouraged students to take an active role in contributing to environmental conservation efforts, highlighting their potential as future leaders in sustainability.
Interactive Sessions and Practical Workshops
A special lecture and interactive session centered on the theme "Encouraging Reuse and Recycling of Plastic" was conducted, focusing on practical strategies to minimize plastic waste. Additionally, a range of activities specifically related to water conservation were organized to educate students on effective methods for saving water and utilizing it efficiently. NCC cadets and students actively participated in the seminar, sharing their insightful perspectives on various environmental issues. A speech competition was also held, featuring impactful presentations by first-year student Satakshi and other participants, which further enriched the discourse.
Coordination and Leadership in Environmental Initiatives
First-year student Akriti Sinha played a pivotal role in coordinating the programme, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills. The event was expertly coordinated by assistant professor and NCC coordinator Ramdayal Singh Kushwaha, who remarked that the NCC's mission extends beyond building discipline and leadership; it also aims to instil a deep sense of social and environmental responsibility among students, fostering a culture of proactive community engagement.
