Forest officials in Berhampur made a grim discovery on Sunday, recovering the carcass of a 10-year-old male blackbuck near Bajrakota on the Bhetanai-Badakholi road. The animal, an endangered species, is suspected to have been hit by an unknown vehicle within the Aska forest range office jurisdiction in Ganjam district.

Pramod Kumar Panda, the range officer of Aska, confirmed that a thorough post-mortem examination was conducted on the blackbuck's remains before the carcass was properly buried. Forest authorities are actively working to identify the vehicle responsible for the fatal collision.
