The Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy Policy was prominently showcased at the World Climate Cities Forum, held during the Korea Green Transition Week from April 20 to 25, 2026, in Yeosu, South Korea.
Policy Presentation by TUDA Chairman
Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) Chairman Divakar Reddy presented the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, which was envisioned by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The policy aims to transform Andhra Pradesh into a global clean energy hub and achieve net-zero emissions by 2047.
Key Objectives and Incentives
Reddy emphasized that the state government is actively promoting renewable energy while ensuring reliable and affordable electricity for all consumers. The policy includes a range of incentives, a single-window clearance system, and Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to boost investments in solar, wind, pumped storage, battery energy storage, green hydrogen, and biofuel technologies.
Investment and Job Creation
The initiative is expected to attract investments worth ₹10 lakh crore and generate approximately 7.5 lakh jobs across the clean energy value chain, significantly boosting the state's economy.
Climate-Resilient Villages and Emission Estimates
TUDA is also planning to develop climate-resilient villages within its jurisdiction by coordinating with various departments. As part of this effort, the climate action plan implemented in Kandulavaripalli gram panchayat was highlighted as a model for other regions.
Additionally, Reddy discussed greenhouse gas emission estimates within municipal corporation limits. He noted that Tirupati receives approximately 18 million visitors annually, creating significant peak demand on utilities and services, especially during festival seasons.
TUDA Vice Chairman R Govindarao accompanied the chairman at the forum.
