Ayodhya’s ‘Blood Man’ Donates Blood 52 Times, Organizes 300+ Camps

Ayodhya: Known as the ‘blood man’ of Ayodhya, Ashish Pandey ‘Deepu’ has become a lifesaver for thousands of people in need of blood. Ashish has donated blood 52 times, and has organized more than 300 blood donation camps in various districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Local Recognition and Dedication

He has been locally honoured with titles like ‘Rakta Prahari’ and ‘walking blood bank’. Dedicated to the mission, Ashish and his team from Sankalp Sansthan reach out to people for immediate assistance even at midnight if any patient requires blood.

Response During the Pandemic

During the coronavirus pandemic, when people were afraid to step out of their homes, Ashish and his team organized special blood donation camps to save the lives of thalassemia, anemia, and kidney patients, besides pregnant women.

“My family and friends actively support this noble work. Many youths are giving priority to blood donation on their birthdays and special occasions. Blood donation goes beyond caste and religion and promotes unity and harmony,” he said.
