A 4-year-old leopardess that had instilled fear among residents of Ankevallyi and surrounding villages was successfully rescued on Friday. The animal had taken shelter inside a house, prompting a swift operation by forest officials.
Rescue Operation Details
According to a forest officer, the leopardess was found hiding in a residential building. After a careful rescue operation, the animal was safely captured. Officials will conduct a health assessment before deciding whether to release it back into the wild or relocate it to a rehabilitation center.
Leopard Attack Leaves Three Injured
Earlier on Friday, the same leopard had attacked three individuals in Ankevallyi village, located in Hassan's Holenarsipura taluk. The injured have been identified as Nagesh, Naveen, and Gouramma. They were admitted to HIMS hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
The attack created widespread panic among the local population. In response, MP Shreyas Patel directed the forest department to take immediate action and prioritize the safety of villagers. He emphasized the need for prompt precautionary measures to prevent further incidents.

A forest official stated that the team rushed to the scene and implemented all necessary measures to prevent the leopard from entering residential areas further. The successful rescue has brought relief to the community.
