The mortal remains of at least 20 individuals, who passed away under various circumstances in Kuwait over recent days, were repatriated to Kochi on a special flight that arrived on Tuesday night. The Kuwait Airways flight, which carried the bodies, touched down at Cochin International Airport (CIAL) at approximately 10:40 PM.
Flight Disruptions Delay Repatriation Efforts
Airport authorities have clarified that the delay in bringing these bodies back to India was primarily due to significant disruptions in flight services. These disruptions are a direct fallout of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which has severely impacted air travel routes and schedules. Officials stated that the bodies, belonging to individuals from different parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, were consolidated and transported in a single flight on Tuesday night to streamline the repatriation process.
CIAL officials emphasized, "We are unaware of the specific reasons for death in each case. Our priority is to complete all necessary procedures before handing over the mortal remains to the grieving relatives." The special flight originated from Kuwait and made a stopover in Colombo before finally landing in Kochi, as confirmed by CIAL representatives.

The health wing at Cochin International Airport meticulously completed all required formalities prior to the handover of the bodies. According to CIAL officials, the deceased hailed from various regions, including Alappuzha and Kottayam in Kerala, as well as several locations in Tamil Nadu.
