A taxi driver in Singapore has taken to social media to share a distressing encounter with two passengers from India, an incident that has sparked widespread discussion online. The driver alleged that the intoxicated individuals vomited in his vehicle, refused to pay for proper cleaning, and verbally abused him.
The Unfortunate Incident on December 21
The event occurred on December 21, 2025. The cab driver, identified as Loo Sam, stated that he picked up the two men who appeared to be heavily inebriated. During the journey, the passengers vomited on the rear seat of his taxi, creating a significant mess.
Sam detailed the aftermath in a now-viral Facebook post, which included photographs of the soiled interior and the passengers involved. He described the scene as enormously awful and said the vehicle was left with a strong smell of undigested curry and alcohol.
Refusal to Compensate and Verbal Abuse
According to Sam's account, the situation escalated when it came to addressing the cleanup. The driver asserted that the two men refused to pay for a professional cleaning service for his taxi. Instead, they offered him a mere S$10 as compensation for the incident.
Sam further claimed that the passengers resorted to verbal abuse during the argument. They verbally abused me as a beggar, he wrote in his post. Feeling insulted, Sam decided not to accept the money offered. I swallowed my pride and did not accept the $10 compensation, especially being called a beggar, he explained.
Financial and Personal Impact on the Driver
The consequences of the incident extended beyond the immediate physical mess. Loo Sam highlighted the tangible financial loss he suffered because of the passengers' actions. He was forced to stop working for the night to clean the vomit himself, resulting in a direct loss of income.
In his emotional post, Sam connected his work to his family's wellbeing. He drives the taxi to support his children's education and put food on the table. Their inconsiderate actions have resulted in my loss of income for the family, he wrote, stating he could not pick up other customers until the cleaning was done.
Speaking to the local website Mothership, which first reported the story, Sam's daughter confirmed that her father drives the cab to fund his children's studies. The viral post has drawn significant attention to the challenges faced by service workers and the impact of passenger misconduct on their livelihoods.
