Bokaro: A tragic road accident in Giridih district on Saturday claimed the lives of a man and his six-year-old son, while two other family members sustained injuries. The incident involved multiple vehicles and occurred near the Pipradih overbridge under Dumri police station limits.
Accident Details
According to police, an SUV traveling from Deoghar to Ranchi collided with a motorcycle carrying four family members. After hitting the two-wheeler, the SUV reportedly crashed into another vehicle coming from the opposite direction before overturning near the overbridge. The collision temporarily disrupted traffic on the busy stretch.
Victims and Injuries
Abbu Hayat, who was riding the motorcycle with his son Animul, daughter Alina Parveen, and wife Rubena Khatun, sustained critical injuries. He died while being taken to Dhanbad for treatment. Animul was killed on the spot. Alina and Rubena are currently undergoing treatment. The family was reportedly heading to Bergi at the time of the accident.
Dumri Sub-Divisional Police Officer Abid Khan confirmed that police and administrative officials arrived at the scene promptly after receiving information. Damaged vehicles were removed, and traffic was restored. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident, police added.
