The Bengaluru GBA (Government Boundary Authority) and traffic police have jointly identified and fixed 107 waterlogging-prone spots across the city. GBA Chief Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao announced that the remaining 70 to 80 spots would be addressed within a week.
Efforts to Mitigate Waterlogging
This initiative aims to prevent flooding during the monsoon season, ensuring smoother traffic flow and reducing inconvenience to residents. The teams have been working on clearing blocked drains, improving drainage systems, and reinforcing vulnerable areas.
Timeline for Completion
Rao stated that the pending spots are being prioritized based on severity and location. The remaining work is expected to be completed within the next seven days, weather permitting.
The collaboration between GBA and traffic police has been praised for its efficiency, with citizens hoping for a flood-free monsoon this year.
