Indrajaal Secures ₹100 Crore Defence Contracts for Anti-Drone Systems
Indrajaal wins ₹100 Cr defence deals for anti-drone tech

In a significant boost to India's indigenous defence capabilities, Hyderabad-based counter-drone specialist Indrajaal has secured multiple contracts worth a total of ₹100 crore from the Ministry of Defence. The orders are for the deployment of the company's advanced, multi-layered autonomous anti-drone systems to safeguard critical installations of the Indian Army and the Indian Navy.

Strategic Deployment Across Key Borders

Founder and CEO Kiran Raju outlined the strategic placement of the Indrajaal systems. The Indian Navy will deploy the technology to protect vital naval ports along the western seaboard. Simultaneously, the Indian Army will install these systems along the sensitive eastern border and at other strategic locations across the country.

Raju emphasized the transformative nature of these contracts, stating they mark a defining step for India's defence ecosystem. "As autonomous systems are deployed across Army and Naval installations, we are enabling an airspace that can sense, decide, and respond at machine speed, strengthening national security through autonomy, resilience, and indigenous innovation," he added.

Multi-Layered Defence with AI at its Core

The Indrajaal system is not a single-point solution but a comprehensive multi-layered counter-drone suite. It is engineered to provide a complete defensive shield with a combination of capabilities designed to handle diverse threats. The system boasts cyber takeover, soft-denial, soft-kill, and hard-kill functions. This integrated approach allows it to detect, track, and neutralise drone threats seamlessly, claiming to eliminate blind spots and operational delays.

At the heart of this sophisticated system lies Indrajaal's proprietary SkyOS C5ISRT platform. This platform acts as a unified command centre, integrating several critical functions into a single, cohesive system. The acronym stands for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber defence, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Targeting.

AI-Powered Speed and Autonomy

A key differentiator of the Indrajaal system is its heavy reliance on artificial intelligence (AI). The AI-powered technology enables real-time decision-making with minimal need for human intervention. This automation dramatically compresses response timelines, reducing them from minutes to mere seconds, while still maintaining crucial human oversight for final operational control.

The successful procurement of these high-value contracts by a Hyderabad-based firm underscores the city's growing prominence as a hub for cutting-edge defence and aerospace technology. It also highlights the Indian defence establishment's increasing trust and investment in homegrown, innovative solutions to address modern asymmetric threats like rogue drones.
