Dell Technologies has unveiled a new version of its XPS 13 laptop, positioning it as the most affordable model in the XPS lineup. This new device is specifically designed for students and young professionals seeking a lightweight, premium laptop at a more accessible price point. According to Dell's official announcement, the launch aligns with a commitment made earlier this year to compete across various consumer price segments while preserving the design and features that define the XPS brand.
Dell XPS 13 Laptop: Price and Availability
Dell's new XPS 13, equipped with Intel Core Series 3 processors, will be available soon in the United States. The company has announced that the starting price for the laptop will be $599 for eligible students aged 16 and above during the back-to-school season. For other buyers, the starting price will be $699. Dell also confirmed that a version powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors will be released later this summer. Additionally, the Storm color option will become available at a later date.
Dell XPS 13 Laptop: Features
Dell claims that the new XPS 13 is the thinnest and lightest XPS laptop ever produced, measuring just 12.7mm in thickness and weighing 1kg. The laptop features a 13-inch 2.5K touch display that covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. It also supports a variable refresh rate ranging from 30Hz to 120Hz, which Dell says helps balance smooth visuals and battery life. Standard features across all models include a backlit keyboard, Intel Wi-Fi 7, Windows Hello support, quad speakers, and USB-C connectivity. The Dell XPS 13 can be configured with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 1TB of storage. The chassis is constructed from aluminum and will be available in two finishes: Sky and Storm. Dell noted that the laptop utilizes a dual-fan thermal system designed to keep it cool and quiet during heavy workloads.
