Facebook-parent Meta is reportedly working on a fresh hardware push, including an AI-powered pendant and multiple new smart glasses models, as part of efforts to revive its struggling Reality Labs division. According to a report by Information, Meta is working on a subscription-based service called 'Wearables for Work' aimed at enterprise adoption.
AI Pendant Development
Meta is developing an AI pendant that builds on its 2025 acquisition of Limitless, a startup known for its clip-on devices that record conversations and generate searchable transcripts. The pendant is said to act as a personal AI assistant, summarizing daily interactions and boosting productivity. Testing is slated to start later this year.
Smart Glass Roadmap
Apart from the AI pendant, Meta is also planning to release up to four new smart glasses models by the end of 2026. These include Modelo (June launch), Luna and RBM2 Refresh (fall release), and Mojito VIP (December debut). Future prototypes such as Artemis and SSG (supersensing glasses) are also in development, all powered by Meta's AI models and its upcoming agent Hatch.
Wearables for Work
Meta is preparing a business-focused subscription service designed to integrate AI wearables into workplace productivity. The initiative will begin with pilot programs at large organizations, each deploying around 100 devices. Meta's target is to sell 10 million wearables in the second half of 2026, expanding availability across more countries.
Meta's Reality Labs division reported $19 billion in losses in 2025, prompting CEO Mark Zuckerberg to refocus on practical hardware like glasses and AI wearables. The company hopes these new devices and services will reduce losses and create sustainable revenue streams.
