For players of the popular simulation game My Winter Car, the ultimate goal is often the construction and tuning of the main project vehicle. This time, the focus shifts from the iconic Satsuma to a new challenge: the Corris Rivett. Based on the real-world Ford Taunus TC1 (1971-1976), this car presents a fresh and demanding project, as players do not start the game owning it.
Finding and Purchasing the Corris Rivett
Unlike its predecessor, the Corris Rivett must be acquired and built from the ground up. The journey begins at the PSK Gas Station in Perajarvi. Here, you need to locate a car sale poster displaying a phone number. Dialing this number connects you to Reijo Livaloinen, the familiar firewood delivery character from My Summer Car.
A crucial step is to let Reijo finish his entire dialogue without hanging up. Prematurely ending the call will cancel the purchase and the car's location will not be marked on your map. Only after he disconnects will a new "Car for sale" pin appear. You must then visit this location during daytime hours, as Reijo is not present at night.
Upon meeting Reijo, interact with him to initiate the sale. You can inspect the vehicle and complete the purchase for 500 MK. Be prepared: what you buy is not a complete car. It is a disassembled frame accompanied by 10-12 random loose parts, all in varying conditions. Notably, the car's manufacturing year, colour, and trim level are randomized with each purchase.
After the transaction, you will need to use the Kekmet tow truck to transport the shell and all the scattered parts back to your garage to begin the assembly process.
Sourcing Essential Parts for Your Build
With just a frame and a handful of random components, you will need to find more parts to complete your Corris Rivett. There are two primary methods for sourcing components in the game.
Classifieds Magazine: The Primary Source
The most extensive parts catalogue can be found in the Classifieds Magazine, available for purchase at the PSK Gas Station. This magazine lists numerous parts suitable for the Rivett. Players can simply dial the numbers listed in the advertisements to negotiate and buy the required components directly.
Fleetari's Repair Shop
For more immediate mechanical needs, a visit to Fleetari's Repair Shop is in order. Fleetari stocks a selection of engine parts and other essential mechanical components. While his inventory might not be as vast as the classifieds, it offers a reliable way to purchase available parts on the spot.
Embracing the Winter Project
The Corris Rivett in My Winter Car represents a significant and engaging departure from the Satsuma experience. The process of finding Reijo, purchasing the randomized shell for 500 MK, and meticulously sourcing every part from magazines and shops adds deep layers of challenge and realism to the vehicle building simulation. It transforms the game from a simple driving experience into a true test of perseverance and mechanical know-how in the harsh Finnish winter setting.
